My babies

Meet my two babies. Wolf the "puggle" (pug + poodle), and Ginger the dacshund. These two poopie dogs that have been wreaking havoc around the house the past few days. The house has now been transformed into one big puppy toilet where pee puddles and poop piles have been popping up everywhere.

Oh pups.

Cory! Cory!

"Cory! Cory! Cory!..." is the cry that flooded EDSA back in 1986, the year the Marcos Regime was toppled down and Cory was elected into office. I was about two years old.

I grew up listening to my parents', uncles', aunts', and grandparents' politically charge conversations. I was EDSA revolution kid. Growing up I thought Marcos was scum and Cory was the bulwark of good governance. Things change and so did my opinion of both former presidents. Marcos wasn't totally evil and Cory wasn't totally the best president the Philippines has had. After all, there are no absolutes in this world.

Nevertheless, she's an icon in Philippine history whom a lot of people will always admire and love. She tried to lead the best way she knew she could - by living out the values that she solidly held on to. A deeply religious woman who, despite hailing from an affluent family, exuded humility and simplicity. She was a private person who didn't really have the desire to be in the limelight, despite her husband being a strong public figure. It took a lot of courage for this woman to have stepped up after her husband's death, and to have challenged Marcos' position president of the Philippines in hopes of bringing positive change to the Philippines.

It was through Cory that we were able to re-establish democracy to this country.

The questions are, is democracy really the right form of government for the Philippines? Did her tenure bring more development to the country or was it the other way around? That's another discussion for another day.

Issues aside, she was an admirable woman. I pray that we all remain inspired by her conviction and her faith in the good things that we capable of as a people.

R.I.P. Former President Cory Aquino.

It feels as if an era has ended with her passing.....

The 2nd First

So after changing it for about two times, I have finally decided on my blog address. I've been trying to come up with something "cool" and "different". Apparently, so did everyone else. Unfortunately, my ideas for "cool" and "different" seemed to be what everyone else had in mind as well. haha! So much for different. In the end, I gave up and decided to just use my name.

Well, again, friends and random passers by if any, welcome to my little place in cyber space.. a little blog amongst the millions out there. Here i shall share my not so private thoughts and opinions. Moreover, because I love randomness and discovering little things, I'll be sharing a lot of random little finds and observations which I find amusing. I like looking for the the sparks admist everyday's mundane buzz. What makes it more fun is being able to share it.

I call this blog "I Have Itchy Feet" because I'm an adventurous soul who can't sit still for long. I'm happiest when I get to go discover new places and things, meet new people and forge genuine connections, and when i get to share new discoveries with close friends. Too much routine gets me depressed...the people closest to me know that.

And because I'm in the mood to share, I'd like to tell you what one of my soft goals.. I'm in search of that thing that I'm really passionate about. My ultimate soul food... something I can share with others and add something good to their lives. I'm in search of my inner music. Part of me hopes that in the midst of writing... I'll find it.

Looking forward to sharing with you guys and reading from you guys as well. Feel free to share your blogs with me.
